Working sheepdog Bess has a litter of puppies: all are big and strong, except one (Collywobble) who is a shivery, wobbly little scrap. The other dogs become sheepdogs or pets, but no-one is sure what to do with Collywobble. He stays at home with Farmer Joe. One snowy day, Collywobble proves what he is capable of by initiating the rescue of Farmer Joe when his truck veers off the road. Collywobble saves the day and is given the opportunity to become a real working sheepdog.
The story shows that appearances are not always as they seem. It has an underlying message that even the youngest and weakest can achieve great and unexpected things with enough determination.
Skillfully illustrated by Petra Brown, this warm and touching story should engage children and deliver a positive message.
