This picture book provides a realistic view of a mother gardening with her children in an urban environment. They visit a garden centre and choose a tree, which they bring home in an old pram. It depicts Mum, children and the family dog planting digging and sowing. They all help to make a hole in the ground, and the family and their neighbours stand and admire the tree in its new home (a bird comes and sits in the branches).
May encourage children to help at home and get involved with gardening by showing how much fun it can be.
