Harry and The Dinosaurs say Raaahh!

Author: Ian Whybrow
Illustrator: Adrian Reynolds
Publisher: Puffin

Harry has a bucket of toy dinosaurs which become life-size when Harry presses his magic button. Mum plans to take Harry to the dentist, but he’s a bit scared as his sister Sam showed him her filling. Harry rounds up his magical dinosaurs. Tyrannosaurus Rex is hiding because he thinks the dentist will use a drill on his teeth. They are called in to the dentist’s surgery and Harry sits nervously in the big chair, thinking about drills. Mr Drake offers the T Rex a ride in the chair. Harry presses his magic button and scares the dentist when he suddenly sees a life-size dinosaur in front of him. Harry and the dinosaurs open their mouths and say ‘RAAAAHH!’, so Mr Drake can check their teeth. He confirms that they are all good brushers and no drilling is required today. The dinosaurs enjoy rinsing their mouths and riding on the chair. On the way home, Harris allowed to choose a library book for being so good, and he picks one on sharks as they have big sharp teeth.

Worth noting:

The characters in the book are very nervous about the dentist's drill. While no drilling actually takes place in the story, the reader may be left feeling apprehensive if they need to have a tooth filled.
