After a whirlwind romance two birds, Betty and Paul, find themselves raising a new chick in a small nest. They become grumpy with each other and decide to build a new nest for Paul but Baby Bird is sad, missing his dad. Betty reassures Baby Bird that she and Paul still love him. Baby Bird learns to fly and flits happily between the two nests in the same tree whenever he likes. The rhyming text and bright illustrations will help parents and children approach a sad subject calmly and with optimism.
